Every year I teach a class on sleep. The questions I most commonly hear, I hear a lot. Here are some ideas to improve the quality and quantity of your sleep. And of course, some information about sleep.
Why do we sleep?
Sleep allows our body to go into a low energy need state where the body repairs damaged tissues.
What is “deep” sleep?
A deep sleep is attained when our parasympathetic nervous system is in full control of our body. This part of our nervous system regulates relaxation and repair of damaged tissues.
How do we get to deep sleep?
Avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and other stimulants.
Get into a routine, B vitamins, liver support, minerals, and endocrine system support.
In a few days, I will post my personal bedtime routine to give you an idea of how to train your body into a rhythm falling asleep easily every night.
